Part of the decor team creating the new Scissors. Taking the director's initial concept of a gay barber's home and waiting room for the stage front of house, and mirrored disco ball extravaganza inside, and bringing it to life.
Tasks included assembling props and deciding how to arrange them to build the set, such as decorating frames, framing and hanging pictures of queer icons, hanging and decorating the shelves and props in the bar and barber shop in the front, creating a bejewelled and floral grotto for the secret bar.
Smaller more detailed tasks included making a pinboard for the barber shop, and the bar prop shelving.
Also more generally hanging lanterns, lights, and painting every last inch of surface black!
